Guitar/ukulele music teacher vacancy
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic guitar and ukulele teaching to join our friendly team. To teach whole class/small group lessons in Waltham Forest. Closing date: 19th April.
Summer term 1-1 music lessons
Sign up now for lessons this Summer term. Lessons are taught Monday to Thursday after the school day and on Saturdays.
One to one Music School lessons will remain online for the first half of the summer term. This is due to the challenge in operating safely (size of rooms, ventilation, prolonged exposure for tutors) and will be reviewed towards the end of the first half term in May. If government guidance allows and we can do so safely, we aim to return to face-to-face individual lessons after the half term held at Walthamstow School For Girls.
Teaching music safely in schools
Face-to-face music lessons in schools have begun following the pupil’s return to school from 8th March. If you would prefer your child to take lessons through their school rather than Music School, please check with your school’s office to find out when tuition will begin at your school and contact us to arrange switching back #CanDoMusic.
Subject to government guidance our Summer Term Mini Musician Courses for babies, toddlers and children aged 4-6 years will be held face to face. Current Government plans will allow indoor parent and child groups to meet no earlier than 12th April. If restrictions are not lifted as planned, the classes will be held on Zoom until they can safely be held face to face.
Music school groups
In a music group, ensemble or orchestra students use the skills they develop in lessons, while improving their confidence and performance ability through a fun and sociable learning experience.
Many students have expressed that they are keen to get back to face-to-face rehearsals and we agree there are many benefits to this. We plan for face to face group rehearsals to begin from Monday 26th April - details will be emailed to Music School families.
Students having lessons in school or on Zoom with us can hire an instrument. The hire fee is £23 per term or part of term, with 50% discount for families on a low income. Please contact us to hire or return instruments to our office which is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm during term time:
020 8496 1584
The Music Service office address is: The School Lodge, Woodbury Road, Walthamstow E17 9SB
Social distancing measures are in place at our office and we may ask you to wait outside while we get your instrument. Any visitors who enter the building must wear a mask and use hand sanitiser.
