Music School groups
We are delighted to welcome students back to face-to-face group and ensemble rehearsals at our Music School from Monday 26th April. We welcome new members to all our groups – now is a great time for young people to join us in real life, make music together and meet new friends. Come along and give us a try!

1-2-1 music lessons
One to one Music School lessons will remain online for at least the first half of the summer term. This is due to the challenge in operating safely (size of rooms, ventilation, prolonged exposure for tutors) and will be reviewed towards the end of the first half term in May. If government guidance allows and we can do so safely, we aim to return to face-to-face individual lessons after the half term held at Walthamstow School For Girls. Lessons are taught Monday to Thursday after the school day and on Saturdays.
Subject to government guidance our Summer Term Mini Musician Courses for babies, toddlers and children aged 4-6 years will be held face to face. Current Government plans will allow indoor parent and child groups to meet no earlier than 12th April. If restrictions are not lifted as planned, the classes will be held on Zoom until they can safely be held face to face.
Students having lessons in school or on Zoom with us can hire an instrument. The hire fee is £23 per term or part of term, with 50% discount for families on a low income. Please contact us to hire or return instruments to our office which is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm during term time:
020 8496 1584
The Music Service office address is: The School Lodge, Woodbury Road, Walthamstow E17 9SB
Social distancing measures are in place at our office and we may ask you to wait outside while we get your instrument. Any visitors who enter the building must wear a mask and use hand sanitiser.
WFMEH Inclusive Music Strategy 2021-2025
Our strategy sets out plan for building a culture of inclusive music education, where all children and young people are valued and recognised for their unique qualities, ideas, voices and perspectives and where they can see the Hub providing a range of diverse musical opportunities and progression pathways.
