Taking Music Exams with us

Preparing for and taking music exams can be a great way to motivate and develop as a musician by providing a framework for setting goals and achieving them.

Our music tutors will work with their pupils to agree which exam to work towards, help them to choose music from the exam syllabus, and decide when to enter.

We run termly exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) for pupils in Waltham Forest. Exams take place during the school term at our own exam centre held at our office on Woodbury Road in Walthamstow.

The ABRSM website has lots of useful information and tips about learning an instrument and preparing for exams, including a suite of apps to help develop practical skills and theory knowledge:

We run annual Rockschool exams which offer a contemporary alternative assessment and are popular with guitar, bass and drum kit musicians, as well as other contemporary instruments.

Find out more about Rockschool exams at
or speak to your music tutor.

Trinity Rock and Pop
We are an accredited exam centre for Trinity Rock and Pop which offers an alternative curriculum for contemporary musicians.  Ask your music tutor about which exam might be best for your son/daughter.
