We Are Here’ celebrates Waltham Forest’s ‘Windrush’ residents, who came to the UK from the Caribbean to create new lives from the 1950s to the 1970s. The exhibition comprises 50 contemporary photographic portraits, displayed alongside personal family photographs, mementos and oral testimonies. This glimpse into their lives shows the residents at home, at work and at play. It documents the important contributions that these residents have made to the history of Waltham Forest, yet little evidence of this exists in the borough’s archives. ‘We Are Here’ uncovers some of these stories, which will be archived at Vestry House Museum, available to be shared with all and for posterity.

The resource pack comprises:

  • A PowerPoint Presentation with Learning Activities aimed at upper KS2/lower KS3 students.

  • Virtual Exhibition Walk Through

  • Recommended reading list

Resources are available to download from Vestry House Museum and We Are Here websites.
