Music School groups

We welcome new members to all our groups and ensembles – a new school year is a great time for young people to join us, make music together and meet new friends. Come along and give us a try!

1-2-1 instrumental and singing lessons

Music School lessons will return to face-to-face from September 2021, held at our Music School at Walthamstow School for Girls. Lessons are taught Monday to Thursday after the school day and on Saturdays. We teach a range of orchestral and contemporary instruments including piano, guitar, drum kit, flute, violin and trumpet.

PLEASE NOTE - there's currently a waiting list for 1-2-1 lessons

Music theory classes
Our theory classes are held in small, relaxed groups to help develop your child’s understanding of music and help them progress.

Our music courses for babies, toddlers and children aged 4-6 years use a variety of musical activities to lay a musical foundation ,:

Instrument hire

Students having lessons in school or at our Music School with us can hire an instrument. Please contact us to hire or return instruments to our office which is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm during term time:

Social distancing measures are in place at our office and we may ask you to wait outside while we get your instrument. Any visitors who enter the building must wear a mask and use hand sanitiser.

Who we are...

Waltham Forest Music Education Hub  (WFMEH) was formed in 2018 and is led by Waltham Forest Music Service (WFMS). 

We believe that every child in Waltham Forest should have access to a high quality music education. 

We’re committed to making sure children and young people have a music education that’s inspiring, enjoyable and fun and are provided with challenge and opportunities to progress.
