Waltham Forest Youth Choir sing with Tony Mortimer and Damon Albarn

In December 2019 our Waltham Forest Youth Choir released a brand new recording of the classic East 17 Christmas No. 1 Stay Another Day, together with founding member of the band Tony Mortimer and East London Brass.

The reworked classic was released through East 17’s original label London Records and 25% of the proceeds generated from sales were donated to CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably, the charity leading a movement against suicide.

The single was released as part of the Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture 2019 year to remind people that we need to look after one another, and to celebrate life.

Waltham Forest Youth Choir is formed of young people from across the borough aged between 11 and 18. The choir performed Stay Another Day live on ITV’s This Morning show and at ‘Forest Uprising’ - the Borough of Culture Finale event in Leyton.

The choir also performed a one-off version of Out of Time with local hero Daman Albarn at the Forest Uprising event.

The Waltham Forest Youth Choir is now open to Members aged 11-18 years.
